A little bit about myself and deciding to race. About 25 years ago I did some moto-x racing and really enjoyed the challenge. But now I am no longer able to ride dirt like that so I started doing some track days and found this just as fun. I had done some track days with my friends and it was a blast to push my limits in a controlled environment such as a track. Then one day I finally got my friend Del to the track and he was hooked, so I told him that I was thinking about racing again and this got the bug in to him, so he and I got to talking and we decided to step our hobby, so we are now racing. The biggest challenge was my wife and she did not want me to do it. So I was going to respect her wishes and not race. But then something happened and she changed her mind.
Well on Feb. 5th, 2006 I did my first race in about 25 years and it was the biggest thrill I have had in a long time. I know that I am not as fast as some, but I am not as slow as others. But the thing to remember, this is all for fun, so I need to ride with as much common sense as possible. Since I am 49 years old and started racing again, I must not have much common sense left.......LOL
In the pictures on my index page, you can see how my 2003 GSXR 1000 started and here I will show you where she has gone and above is what she looks like now. There is a neat website that keeps records of my racing times and I will link to that so you can see what I and many other racers can do at certain race tracks. Also I will have when and where we are racing.
If you don't want to race, but just maybe want to do some track days that is great too. Fastrack Riders provides some really great track days. I know there are other really good track day hosts out there, I just ride with Fastrack Riders. Following are the links to the track days and WERA West Racing.
I would also give a special thanks to my new friend John Chen. He is the person I bought my race body work from. But not only did he help me out with that, he has allowed me to bug the living heck out of him with questions about how to get going back in racing with WERA.
