After racing all that I could in 2006 and seeing how much better the 05 GSXR 1000 were doing than my 2003 GSXR 1000, I decided to get a newer GSXR 1000. So I bought a brand new 2006 GSXR 1000. The bike fit was a little different in the ergonomics, but the power was greater and stronger than my 2003. This is how she looked new.

Once the bike was almost broke in I added a full Sato exhaust system, Power Commander, K&N air filter, Penske rear shock and RaceTech front suspension upgrade. This really made the bike work very well while and increased the power even more. I wanted to add a T.R.E. (Timing Retard Eliminator) like I have on my 03 GSXR, but they were not available yet.
Now I am into October of 2006 and getting her ready for racing again. So I ordered in a full Hotbodies Racing Fairing and bracket. Along with a new DID ZVM2 530 Chain, Sato rear sets and the now available T.R.E. and have started getting everything installed. In the next few pictures you can see the I am well on the way to getting her ready to go. Here you can see the tail section is now installed. Also in the engine compartment, you can see the T.R.E. (barely), a blue and white cylinder and the Sato exhaust system with the racing can.

In this next picture of the tail section, you can see the one of the Sato rear sets.

Next the street fairing had to come off, so I laid it out for now.

The next two pictures show the mounted upper fairing and the more than half way mounted lower fairing.

Well I now have the fairing pulled back off and primered and sanded, will start color coating tomorrow.

It is now Sunday 29th, day of MotoGP, so I got up early to color coat the fairings and realized I forgot the reducer. I had a little left so I did the front fender and lowers. Oh well, I will get the reducer next week and finish painting so I can clear coat next week.

Well is it 11/4/06 and my bike has all but one bolt drilled for wire tying. I have to wait until I can pull the rear wheel to get at the last bolt. Also I finally have the fairings color coated and the number plates painted. Clear coat will go on tomorrow.

11/5, I got all the pieces clear coated and the last one I was doing, the front fender I dropped a bead sweat on it. I cleaned it up as much as possible, but I am going to have to redo it. Any way the tail section is mounted and I went ahead and mounted the front fender for now and a new Michelin Power Race PR2. Here are the pictures:

11/8/2006: It been a few days since I have updated, but I have been busy, I have finished the fairings, gas tank, chain and sprockets. rear tire and most of the wire tying. I will pull the forks tomorrow night and fix them Friday. I will also install the manual cam chain adjuster, get the radiator filled and ready to go. So for now here is were I am at, pictures of more work done.

Well the front forks are pulled again, the radiator is filled with water/Red Line Water Wetter and the engine is filled with oil. Also I have switched to Factory Pro engine covers and are they trick, check it out. (I am now a dealer with them)

The engine cover comes with a slider to for added protection. Like I said trick.
Well, she is ready to go. Here are some final pictures, I will have more from California Speed Way on 11/25/2006.

This 06 is definitely more potent than my 03 and I may not ever maximize the full potential of her, but I will have a lot of fun trying my best. My first race of the season is Jan. 7th, 2007 at California Speedway.
See you at the track!
