Hi, my name is Bill Johnson and I have enjoyed the sport of motorcycling for over 40 years. I have ridden quite a few motorcycles, but the two I have most enjoyed are my 2001 Bandit 1200 and my 2003 GSXR 1000.
As a young boy, my dad made me take care of my vehicles, starting with bicycles, go-karts and then motorcycles. I had to change tires, fix flats, change oil and so on. As I got older, I started working on cars and building street racers. Of course, they were not popular with the local law enforcement then either. That is why I recommend if you want to test your speed limits, do this at the track.
With the new vehicles being so lean from the factory, after buying my Bandit, I did some upgrades to her in the way of a full exhaust system and jet kit with the help of my good friend Dale Walker. He owns a company called Holeshot, where he builds and sells very high quality parts for Bandits as well as many other brands and models of motorcycles. After I had got done with the few upgrades, I found that my Bandit was one of the first oil burners that Suzuki denied putting out, so I ordered a 1216 JE piston kit since Suzuki refused to fix it, head porting and 88-89 GSXR 750 intake cam. Wow what a difference this made in my Bandit. From there I just went on and on. This bike is now for sale.
But this was just the start. Realizing how much I missed working on bikes, I started doing work on the side for other riders who either wanted someone else to do the work or were a bit apprehensive in doing their own work. Now I work on sport, sport-touring and race bikes. I have added a lot of tools to help me do the work and I have found many great dealers who provide parts and machine service.
For those who like to do the work themselves or want to try but are a bit apprehensive, I have a How-To CD that will guide you through most of all of the basic work that needs to be done on a bike or to do some of the upgrades. You can find this How-To CD in the parts section as well as the parts you will need to do the work.
